Comrade 30s - Character Description

Physiology

Age: 29

Height and weight: a little below average height  (5 ft 6 in) and 150 pounds

Color of hair: dark brown

Posture: a little hunch

Appearance: pleasant, a little untidy.

Heredity: a weak constitution. If he gets in contact with someone sick with the flu, he always gets it.

Sociology

Class: Middle. His family lives in comfort, but his mother had to work very hard to afford it. She would have two or three jobs at the same time. His father is currently unemployed, but used to have a construction company and had periods of financial success. He was always good for starting businesses, but always ended up trusting the wrong person and losing his money. His father was always very generous and Comrade 30s thoroughly enjoyed his periods of fortune, but when they ended they left him ill prepared for facing the harshness of life. His mother had to slow her work rhythm because of health issues and Comrade30s had to take over to help support his family.

Occupation: Engineer. Works in the Reconstruction Department as the Project Coordinator. He got the job after being recommend by a university professor. He likes his job, but hates what the department has become. When he started working in the Reconstruction Department everything was normal, until the government changed and a new administration took power. People adopted corrupt practices, which continue until now. He’s got relative job security since he’s enrolled as a government employee, but in a corrupt environment where rules are disrespected no one is safe.

Education: He has a bachelor’s degree in engineering. He always liked math. He likes it’s precision. Unlike philosophy there’s always an exact answer and a mechanical process you can follow to obtain it.

Home Life: His mother is 53 and his father 55. His parents got divorced when he was 12. His mother always had a strong presence in his life, so when his parents broke up his home life wasn’t much altered. But it did left a psychological impact on him. He was also very close to his father before the divorce. As a result of the separation and the alienation of his father  he became a mistrusting individual.

After the divorce, the mother took over maintaining the house, although the    father did made contributions from time to time. He admires his mother. She’s the one who installed that sense of incorruptibility in him. Although, she had to provide for him and his brother she never took any bribes. She used to work in a government institution and was constantly offered money or other gifts, but she never took them despite the benefits it would have meant to their economic situation. She preferred to work two jobs or find other means to support her family.

Religion: He was raised catholic, but lost his faith and became agnostic.

Race, nationality: no race – no nationality

Community: Comrade 30s is a loner. He belongs to no clubs and has no affiliations. If he agrees to belong to one, it’s not out of true desire but for some personal benefit. He never goes to parties or reunions. He doesn’t know what to do in them and can’t understand why people enjoy them. Nevertheless, he does try to be friendly with people and is congenial with people whom he comes in contact with whether at school or work. He might develop friendships from time to time. But, once he loses contact with the person he might not even recognize them if they run into each other some years later.

Amusements: He likes to read thrillers and crime novels.

Psychology

Sex Life: His trust issues prevented him from being more sexually active when he was young.  But, he never believed in waiting for marriage to have sex. He had his first girlfriend whom he met at the university when he was 18, but waited a year before they engaged in a sexual relationship.  A couple of moths after they both graduated he broke up with her, because without the university they didn’t seem to spend any time together anymore, so he lost interest. He also met another girl at work whom he liked and was attracted too. He started a relationship with her which continuous till today.

Morality: You should not act in a certain way because some deity tells you is the right way. Your actions should be the product of your own reflections and you should expect to be treated in the same way without complaints. He believes an eye for an eye.

Ambition: He’s a very ambitious and competitive character although he tries to hide it. He has a superiority complex. He believes he is smarter than most of his peers and as such he believes he should be the person running the department where he works.

Frustrations: Although he is a good professional, he is prevented from advancing in his job because of his refusal to cooperate in acts of corruption.

Temperament: He is a pessimistic person. He likes to consider himself as a realist but his attitude runs more towards pessimism. He always expects the worst from people or situations. He’s passive aggressive. On the outside he seems like a calm person, but when something upsets him he becomes obsessed with it and can feel great rage inside. Sometimes this rage can turn into small violent acts, like slamming doors or throwing objects.

Attitude towards life: Although he might seem as a defeatist, deep down he’s a militant. He’s stayed in a job where things are unlikely going to change, but he remains there in the hope that it does. He wants to stay in job and fight for things to change. He refuses to quit and let corruption win.
